The mission and goal of the Christian Education Department is to facilitate the equipping of every saint at GNBC by providing biblically based instruction through trained and capable teachers.

Our curriculum will provide Biblical based lessons in a variety of contexts which expose the student to not only understanding the Bible, but applying the Bible to everyday life.

The Christian Education Department’s mission is to teach all individual at GNBC from the youngest to the oldest, to grow in the knowledge of God and our Savior Jesus Christ as revealed in the Word of God.

    Primary Objective:

  • To use men and women of Christ-like character to act as examples to those under their instruction.

  • To use men and women committed to the basic doctrines of the Christian faith as outlined in the doctrinal statement of GNBC.

  • To use men and women capable and confident to instruct a group of students through a planned lesson.

  • To provide opportunities for individuals, if God has bestowed this upon them, to exercise the gift of teaching.

2 Peter 3:18 (NKJ)

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.”

Work Release Ministry

PURPOSE:

  • The Re-entry Ministry operates in the context of the Great Commission found in Matthews 28 that commands us to “go.”  Volunteers “go”. Every Tuesday men of Greater Northwest go and conduct an expository Bible study and prayer time with men currently in the Work Release program. These men are encouraged to study on their own and be prepared to participant during the lesson time. Bibles and other materials are available and transportation is also provided to Worship Services at GNBC each Sunday morning

OBJECTIVE:

  • The Re-entry Ministry deals with men that have very diverse situations and problems. Most have many consequences and challenges to face when they return to their homes. Volunteers, with similar life experiences, provide discussion times and find biblical solutions specific to the situation. In concert with the biblical training this ministry also assists with the physical needs of the participants.  They are provided with clothing, food, housing assistance, transportation and job referrals when available.

More importantly they are given the Gospel of Jesus Christ; several have accepted Him and many more have made a very obvious commitment to rededicating their lives to His service.

Many of the men maintain contact after leaving the work release center and others continue to attend Greater Northwest Baptist Church.  Some of the men, who have returned to their respective home, have sent letters to the church expressing their appreciation for this ministry; however one in particular sums up this ministry.  “I thank God for Greater Northwest Baptist Church, the pastor and its leadership for having the vision to be involved in a prison outreach ministry that teaches the Word through Bible study.

Pendleton Juvenile Center

Purpose and Goals:

The Pendleton Juvenile Center has giving Greater Northwest Baptist Church the opportunity to minister God’s word in their facility. We minister to youth of all back grounds.  Our prayer is to reach youth with God’s word so they can come into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. The benefit of this ministry is to give these youth hope during their confinement and a foundation for their releases.
